Rural and island town centres face unique challenges

Although it is difficult to put a definitive figure on it, the Coronavirus pandemic has had a significant effect across the Highlands and Islands. The government has tried its best to provide support, however it is clear there are challenging times ahead.
In addition, it is a hard truth that Covid-19 has only exacerbated long-term trends (mainly driven by the internet) that have changed retail in town centres across the country.
