Our History

Graham + Sibbald’s roots lie in Dundee, Scotland. In February 1959, Sandy Graham went into partnership with Greig Sibbald to establish what was then the only solely Valuation based practice in the City. In 1964, Graham + Sibbald expanded in terms of client base, with the opening of offices in Kirkcaldy, Stirling and Glasgow. The firm continued to grow with further offices opening across Scotland and England.

The property world has changed significantly since Graham + Sibbald first set up an office in Dundee in 1959. But what hasn’t changed is our belief in the quality and independence of our advice and our investment and trust in our people – the best advice from the best people, with invaluable local knowledge, and the support of a national network of experts for every aspect of every project.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Graham + Sibbald has a long -standing history of supporting the wider community and delivering community benefits. This ranges from offering work placements + shadowing experiences for secondary school children in S4-6 across our office network, supporting + working in partnership with DYW (Development Young Workforce) and local schools by surveyor participation and attendance at career fairs/ STEM practical workshops to supporting Modern & Graduate apprentices through our dedicated Career Programmes.

We encourage and empower our employees to get involved with their local communities and actively support a number of local charities by carrying out various fundraising activities throughout the course of the year across our network of offices. This year sees our staff in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow Offices taking part collectively as a team and raising money for Social Bite, Sleep in the Park 2018.

2013 saw us introduce our ‘Rising Star’ sponsorship programme in support of helping young Scottish Athletes to succeed and promote sporting achievements in Scotland.

So far, we have sponsored 4 athletes:

2013 Swimmer, Craig Benson– supporting him in the run up and during the 2014 Commonwealth Games

2014 Talented cyclist, Callum Skinner who successfully won gold in the men’s team sprint in Rio 2016

2016 GB Paralympian Scott Meenagh, who switched from para rowing in 2016 at an international level to cross country skiing, successfully competing in the 2018 Paralympics in PyeongChang

2018 Diving European Champion, Grace Reid is our current Rising Star

Our People

Our team is made up of over 200 highly qualified professionals, located in 17 offices across Scotland and England. They are supported and resourced by a senior team of Managing Partners, Associates and Consultants.

We are an RICS Quality Assured Firm, with qualified Energy Assessors in each of our offices who are able to prepare Home Reports and Energy Performance Certificates for both the commercial and residential sectors. All our valuers have been accredited though the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme.

In everything we do, we aim to maintain the highest possible professional standards. We recruit, train and invest in our staff, offering a structured APC training programme and providing the best possible personal and professional development for all of our people.
