Our Inverness Agency Team and Planning Team initially acted for an Administrator in relation to the disposal of this land. We were then retained by the developer that purchased the land (Tweed Estates Ltd) and were subsequently retained by Kirkwood Homes to deliver the consent.
To ensure success, we undertook formal pre-application consultation with The Highland Council and developed a good working relationship with the appointed planning Office and Housing Development Officer, bringing in specialist consultants and public affairs consultants as necessary.
Planning consent was successfully obtained. Political opposition was resolved through an early agreement on developer contributions towards education provision. Our good working relationship with the Planning and Housing Departments was instrumental in overcoming the other planning concerns.
