The existing industrial estate site was suitable for residential or student development, subject to suitable planning consent being obtained.

The Edinburgh and Dundee Agency teams drew up a target list of developers and contacted them with an information pack pertaining to the project. Industrial developers and investors who were known to be active across Scotland were also targeted with a proposal campaign.

Key Challenges

The subjects comprised circa 37,000 sq ft of vacant industrial units. The key challenge was to secure a bid that would exceed the timescales set by the client, whilst still achieving best value.


Following interest generated from the targeted marketing campaign distributed to a number of developers and investors, the premises were successfully sold within 5 months from the initial instruction date. This was well in advance of the clients’ expectations which had been initially set at 12 months plus.
