The sites were initially brought to market on a targeted basis as a result of the competition authority’s decision to force MFG to divest part of their estate. As a leading consultant to the fuel retailing industry we were asked to approach our clients with the above opportunities.

Our retained client Grove Retail Limited is a well-established fuel retailer with 15 sites across Scotland with further plans to expand. Based on our knowledge of their existing estate, we were of the opinion that these met our clients requirements and would bolster their current portfolio.

We provided valuation advice in respect of both sites and thereafter entered into successful negotiations with the agents acting on behalf of MFG.

Key Challenges

As a result of the competition authority requiring a sale to be agreed quickly, our team had to process all information provided efficiently and quickly to enable Valuations to be completed prior to an offer being made on behalf of our client. This was turned around promptly, providing an excellent service to our client.


Graham + Sibbald’s client was very satisfied that the acquisition of both sites, achieving a great result and a good price. Now that Grove Retail Limited has taken both sites into their portfolio we are exploring potential new income streams to include drive-thru/drive-to style offerings on both sites. This will further enhance their portfolio value and provide a good return on income to our client.
