Polochar Inn, South Uist– SOLD

The Hotel + Leisure division of UK Property Firm Graham + Sibbald are delighted to announce the Polochar Inn, South Uist, HS8 5TT has been SOLD.

The Polochar Inn comprise a substantial detached hotel constructed mainly in stone and brick, generally two storeys in height under a pitched slate roof. The stunning coastal position overlooks the Sound of Barra. The Hotel has 11 en-suite letting bedrooms, lounge bar, public bar and function room and a separate guest lounge with regular live music a feature.

The hotel has been sold by Duncan Aitken, a local businessman who has owned the Hotel since 2018.  He wishes the purchasers a very long and fruitful ownership of the Hotel he has upgraded significantly since he purchased it.

The Polochar Inn has been acquired by American owner’s who want to build a small group of independently owned hotels throughout the Islands of Scotland.

The Polochar Inn is located on the south-west tip of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. The Highlands and Islands of Scotland are regarded as a must-visit destination, which has long been known by many. Recent renewed interest in the Outer Hebrides from tourists and residents has boosted visitors’ number to the Island. Given the Island’s rural position, it is expected that this trend will continue in a post-coronavirus market. Lochboisdale, located on the mainland in South Uist, is regarded as the main population area and port. Regular ferry crossings to Oban can be serviced from here, as well as all local amenities. This is only a short ten minute drive from Polochar Inn. Benbecula, lies between the islands of North Uist and South Uist, connected to both via road causeways. This is regarded as the main commercial area and is located approximately 28 miles (1 hours’ drive) from the Polochar Inn. Benbecula Airport on the island has daily flights to and from Glasgow, Stornoway and Barra.

The purchase consideration was not disclosed but Graham + Sibbald, were inviting Offers around £410,000 for the Polochar Inn, South Uist.
