Graham + Sibbald are delighted to be sponsoring our very own John MacBean, Partner in the Inverness office, as he takes on a 500-mile cycle to raise money for Maggies (Highland) Centres.
Having supported the Maggies previously over the years, including the Loch Ness Beast Race in 2018 during which our team raised a fantastic £2,607.36, we are delighted to be involved once again with this wonderful charity.
Originally due to take place in 2020, the Maggies Cycle 500 event is now set for this September over a 5-day period, with John being included within a team of 40 other business leaders and owners, working together to raise £150,000. The route will take them from Inverness to Aviemore, then various 100 mile cycles every day across the Cairngorms National Park, taking in many challenging and diverse routes across the 5 days.
All money raised goes towards ensuring that anyone visiting the centre can receive the advice, support and guidance that they need, at a time when they need it most. Maggies rely on donations in order to be able to deliver their wide range of life-changing services, from access to counselling and family support, including help on how to talk to children about cancer or guidance surrounding benefits.
John MacBean commented, “I am looking forward to taking on the challenge with less than a month to go until the big day. Training has been really going well, and the team are making great progress. The support has been fantastic and we’ve already reached our fundraising target, and have set a new target of £175,000! A big thank you to everyone who has already donated – every penny really does count!”
