Hotel and Leisure Specialists Announce Tenfold Increase in Sales

Graham + Sibbald Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants have undertaken a significant number of valuations, sales and acquisitions of hotel and leisure properties across the UK throughout 2021, leading to a record number of annual transactions for the team.

Despite the ongoing health crisis, it is clear that there are still keen buyers and investors out there looking to take on hotels, guesthouses, holiday parks, restaurants, pubs and bars, cafes and leisure facilities. It’s no surprise that UK’s tourist hot-spots and hidden gems continue to draw visitors and with an influx of people taking to the staycation market instead of going abroad, there aren’t any signs of this slowing down.

The Graham + Sibbald team have seen a 10 fold increase in the number of Hotel + Leisure transactions since 2019. In 2021, the team achieved a 42% increase in the total year on year sales and a 75% increase in transactional values and rental agreements. Additionally, the volume of Hotel + Leisure valuation instructions has also notably increased. The team are also now excellently placed and structured to continue this success and growth nationally in the year ahead.

Peter Seymour, Hotel + Leisure Director at Graham + Sibbald, commented; “Our team has grown significantly over the last 12 months and everyone has worked extremely hard and played their part in this success. We have more than doubled our previous annual results and we are delighted to see our expanding team of experienced professionals going from strength to strength.”

2021 saw the G+S welcome Kit Abram, Martin Sutherland, Hugh Anderson and Martin Davis to the national team, each bringing their own sector specific knowledge and expertise enabling growth and expansion across the UK. In addition, the team have also welcomed Kevin Hunter into leisure and hotel specialist valuation services. The team work closely together and can provide a bespoke and comprehensive service package to all clients on hotel, leisure and trading assets (from £100k – £20m), across the UK.
