Chartered Surveyors Announce Eight New Directors

Graham + Sibbald, UK Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants, have announced the promotion of Andrew Rose, Claire Peebles, Daniel Tucker, Graeme Gilchrist, Jared Neville, Murray Walker, Neil Cromarty and Salma Hathbul to Director level.

Andrew Rose is a Chartered Surveyor with close to 20 years’ experience in the Highlands + Islands Commercial Property Market. He studied Property Management + Development at Glasgow Caledonian University and started working with Graham + Sibbald in 2003 as a Graduate Surveyor. Specialising in commercial valuations, agency and other professional work, he carries out a variety of surveys on a weekly basis for his clients. He regularly undertakes bank reports, rent reviews, sale and letting instructions and more. These instructions are carried out on behalf of Property Companies, Lenders, Private Individuals, Charities etc. Andrew enjoys his role with the firm and his knowledge and expertise play a key part in supporting the Inverness Commercial team.

Claire Peebles has over 10 years’ experience in the commercial property industry acting for both public and private sector clients. Claire gained experience working on Scottish Enterprise public sector portfolio during her time at Colliers International where she focused on developing her role and studying General Practice Surveying. She graduated from University College of Estate Management in 2017 gaining a General Practice Surveying Diploma with Merit. Claire also secured IOSH certification. Claire joined Graham + Sibbald in September 2021 from her previous role as Senior Surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield, she has worked with private sector clients including Maquarie Group, British Steel Pension Fund and Aberdeen Standard Investments.

Daniel Tucker started working with Graham + Sibbald in 2020, since doing so has delivered a wide range of services including Contract Administration, Defect Analysis Surveys, Planned Preventative Maintenance Reports, Reinstatement Cost Assessments + Asset Condition Monitoring. Prior to this Daniel spent thirteen years with one of the world’s largest building product manufacturers. During this time he was employed as Product Manager + Technical Services Manager for the UK and Ireland. Prior to this he worked for a structural and civil engineering consultant for a period of 3 years. Daniel therefore has a very strong technical background, particularly in the disciplines of product chemistry, insulation, roofing and structural waterproofing. He has a wealth of experience in defect analysis, bespoke detailing and specification writing. He is proficient in U-Value, Condensation Analysis, Thermography and CAD and also has experience in structural and civil engineering, leadership and management.

Graeme Gilchrist joined Graham + Sibbald’s Dundee office in 2014 after completing his Law degree at Dundee University and moving up from the Scottish Borders. He then achieved his Masters in Real Estate at the University College of Estate Management whilst undertaking his professional training and became chartered in 2016. As an RICS Registered Valuer Graeme’s work is focused on Home Reports and mortgage valuations, although is also involved in the preparation of EPC’s, matrimonial/ estate valuations, land valuations and more. Graeme works out of both our Dundee and St Andrews offices and provides services for clients across all of Dundee, Angus and North East Fife. Graeme also takes a role in the firms structured training programme, helping our young surveyors through their APC process.

Jared Neville is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 9 years’ experience and is Head of the Building Surveying team in Edinburgh. He studied Building Surveying at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and began working in Graham + Sibbald’s Edinburgh office after graduating with First Class Honours. Jared is experienced in all sectors of the Construction and Property industry and is responsible for Contract Administration of various refurbishment projects ranging from £50k to in excess of £1m, including specification and design, procurement and project management through to completion. He is also proficient in Building Surveys, Defect Analysis Inspections and Schedules of Condition. In addition to this, Jared is experienced in preparing and negotiating Schedules of Dilapidations on behalf of both Landlord and Tenant.

Murray Walker has over 30 years’ experience and specialises in Asset and Property Management advising real estate funds, property companies, and corporate occupiers throughout the UK. Murray joined Graham + Sibbald with the acquisition of Keningtons in 2022, having begun his career in the City of London after graduating from Reading University with a BSc (Hons) degree. He advises clients on investment and occupational property portfolios with his wide and deep knowledge and experience. Murray advises clients at director level with a proactive, market orientated approach and uses lateral thinking to deliver effective property solutions. He is tenacious in ensuring objectives are achieved and maintains high levels of client care.

Neil Cromarty is a Chartered Surveyor, RICS registered valuer and Domestic Energy Assessor with over 15 years’ experience in the Highland and Moray residential markets. Born in Inverness he started working with Graham + Sibbald in 2007 and subsequently graduated from the College of Estate Management, Reading in 2009. Specialising in residential valuations, he carries out a variety of surveys on a daily basis for the preparation of home reports, mortgage valuations, EPC’s and land valuations. These reports are carried out on behalf of solicitors and estate agents, housing associations and independent clients. His local knowledge and expertise greatly contribute towards the Inverness residential team and across the Highland area.

Previously a member of the Keningtons team, Salma moved back to join Keningtons who were bought by Graham + Sibbald in mid-2022. Salma is responsible for Commercial Property Management and Asset Services, boasting multi-disciplinary experience and works closely with trade union clients as well as private sector clients. Salma said, “I manage my client’s properties as if they were my own investments. There are numerous financial pressures that property owners now face, from increased maintenance costs to increased interest rates. Property now must do more, and I thrive to diversify its income where possible as well as reduce maintenance costs by considering possible carbon reduction.”
