Graham + Sibbald have recently obtained planning permission in principle for a flatted residential development on Buchanan Street, Dundee on behalf of SSE plc, on the site of a former electricity substation. Following a modernisation of operations, the substation was downsized and will be retained by SSE plc leaving the surplus site containing the former substation building.
The project was led by our Planning + Development team and included input from our Architectural Services team, with external noise, transport and geotechnical consultants also brought in to provide supporting assessments.
The layout plan submitted with the planning application demonstrated that the site can accommodate twelve, two-bedroom flats with associated parking and access. Once completed, the development will bring new homes to a desirable and sustainable location in Dundee, close to transport links and the City Centre.
