APC Candidates Pass

Graham + Sibbald are delighted to announce our three newly qualified Chartered Surveyors; Chris King (Edinburgh), Kyle Hargreaves (Manchester) and Lewis Redpath (Edinburgh), who all successfully passed their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) in late 2019.

This represents a once again continued 100% success rate for Graham + Sibbald, of which we pride ourselves in achieving annually. Our aim is that all of staff are qualified to the highest level possible, and so, our APC candidates are supported and mentored by key staff members who have received training through the RICS to become qualified APC Assessors.

Chris King is a Commercial Surveyor, based in our Edinburgh office. He secured his Undergraduate degree from Robert Gordon University before moving to Edinburgh to complete his Master’s in Real Estate and Planning at Heriot Watt University. Chris started with Graham + Sibbald in 2016 via a summer placement and has been a consistently dedicated and hard-working member of the team since the beginning. He is exposed to a wide range of properties and development land including industrial, retail and office accommodation.

Chris commented: “Upon starting my employment with Graham + Sibbald I was provided with extensive training and support which allowed me to further my knowledge and develop my skillset. The APC process is a stressful one, although I was given every opportunity to work across various departments within G+S to allow me to gain the necessary experience. The guidance and support received from various staff members across different offices was instrumental in allowing me to achieve a pass. I am extremely happy to have passed and look forward to progressing my career within the Firm.”

Kyle Hargreaves is a Building Surveyor, based in our Manchester office. He started working with Graham Sibbald in March 2019, following eight years with one of the world’s largest building protection manufacturers, where he served as Technical Services Manager. Kyle has a strong technical background, particularly in the disciplines of roofing and structural waterproofing. He studied Building Surveying at The University of Salford and graduated in 2017 with First Class Honours. Prior to his degree he also achieved a Distinction in his Higher National Certificate (HNC) at Stockport College in Construction and the Built Environment.

Kyle said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Graham + Sibbald so far, having only joined earlier this year, and I am grateful for all the help and support I received in order to allow me to progress through my APC. G+S provide you with study leave prior to sitting your APC which proved to be very helpful in getting those last pieces of studying done. I am ecstatic to have passed and now progress my career with Graham + Sibbald.”

Lewis Redpath is a Building Surveyor, based in our Edinburgh office. He studied Building Surveying BSc (Hons) at Edinburgh Napier University and joined Graham + Sibbald in April 2016. Lewis specialises in Building Surveys, Schedule of Condition Surveys and Dilapidations as well as assisting colleagues with the management of various large-scale projects. His attention to detail and timely production of reports has been recognised and sets a high standard for this next step in his career.

Lewis commented: “I’ve really enjoyed my time working towards becoming a qualified Chartered Surveyor with Graham + Sibbald. While the few months leading up to my final assessment were stressful, the support I received from colleagues played a great role in my success. I’m excited to see what my future holds with Graham + Sibbald and I’m delighted to be working in such a busy and diverse office.”

Calum Campbell, Graham + Sibbald Managing Partner, commented: “The Firm are committed to providing training and offering career development for all staff members. We are pleased that these three Surveyors have gained their Chartered status and look forward to seeing them take this next step in their careers with Graham + Sibbald.”
