Leading Hotel and Leisure Agents Join Local Property Firm

Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants, Graham + Sibbald, have announced the strategic hire of Hugh Anderson and Martin Davis to head their Hotel + Leisure service offering across England.

Anderson and Davis initially came from Lambert Smith Hampton, and are widely known throughout the industry. Boasting a wealth of experience in buying and selling hotels and leisure properties for their established client base, they each bring significant sector knowledge and experience to their new roles. The roles themselves will focus on driving hotel transactional business across the UK while supporting Graham + Sibbald’s ambitious growth plans for their hotel and leisure service offering.

A historically Scottish based firm, Graham + Sibbald’s Hotel + Leisure team has been around for more than a decade. In 2017, the business merged with Seymour & Co. with the hire of Peter Seymour who leads the Hotel + Leisure team across Scotland, boosted by the addition of the experienced Alistair Letham from Colliers in 2020.

Les McAndrew, Senior Partner, commented; “This is a very exciting time for the business as we continue our expansion across England. The hotel and leisure market is strong at present and with Hugh and Martin on board, we look to take full advantage of this. With Kit Abram having joined our new London office in early Summer, the team is growing at a fair pace and we anticipate that there is much more to come, with team coverage from Brighton in the South to the Shetland Islands in the North.”

Anderson brings over 20 years’ experience working both nationally and internationally, primarily in the provision of the sale and acquisition of hotels. He brings widespread experience in all aspects of the hotel sector, such as brokerage, development advice, hotel deal structures, agency and valuation advice, with extensive knowledge of key brands and UK markets.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the property market, Davis has worked with most major operators in the hotel and licensed leisure industry sector including Christie & Co and GVA (Avison Young). A prominent broker in the North, he has been instrumental in negotiating many high-profile hotel deals across the region.

Davis said; “I am delighted to have joined the well respected and experienced team at Graham + Sibbald and I am really excited to be part of their English plans as we look to develop and grow our market share in the hotel and leisure sector across the United Kingdom.”

Graham + Sibbald has over 240 staff members and 23 Partners working across their 17 UK offices in Scotland and England.
