Major Tourism Development Kathellan Farm, Kelty

GRAHAM + SIBBALD’S planning team have been commissioned to lead a major tourism development around Kathellan Home Farm, by Kelty, Fife.

On 22 October, Fife Council registered our outline planning application for a 50 bedroom hotel and conference centre, tourism retail units, a micro-brewery, children’s outdoor play area and holiday chalets, all with associated coach and car parking and hard and soft landscaping.

The submission of this application followed pre-application dialogue with Fife Council planning officers, and was supplemented by detailed market assessment reports undertaken by RGA Consultants, a Transport Scoping Report by PB Parsons Brinckerhoff, and a masterplan prepared by McInnes Gardner Architects.

The rationale behind this project has been to attract additional visitors to the area, and to solidify Kathellan’s reputation as a family-friendly’ destination and a quality tourism offering.

Kathellan benefits from its close proximity to the M90; and excellent transport links to the wider road network.  The business has an established and successful retail offering, award-winning restaurant, and rare breeds farm park.
