Graham + Sibbald acquired £2.5M Facility for "Removal Services Scotland".
On behalf of Removal Services Scotland (RSS), Graham + Sibbald has acquired a site totalling 4.21 acres at Oakbank, Livingston.
Graham + Sibbald was duly appointed to undertake a site search and it did not take long to identify the sites being sold by Scottish Enterprise at Williamston Road North at Oakbank in Livingston as a front runner, where RSS is set to move from their original Edinburgh base at Granton to a new purpose built 50,000sqft facility.
Ian Wright of RSS, states that, “Livingston’s strategic location to the west of Edinburgh, close to the airport and main motorway network, made it an easy selection for me for the relocation of my business. I always wanted however a state of the art facility, bespoke to the particular requirements of my business, as the next logical step for the ongoing development and expansion of RSS – I just needed the site and the right advice!”
Planning has been now obtained for a brand new 10 metre high 50,000 sqft storage and distribution facility with ancillary offices, together with yard and car parking, and construction starting; it is anticipated that this will be completed by late summer, when RSS will make the move from Granton along the M8 to Livingston.
Leslie McAndrew, Commercial Partner, at Graham + Sibbald, Edinburgh Office, says that he is, “delighted for RSS that the acquisition of this facility is now concluded. As ever with property development transactions, it can sometimes be a long and frustrating exercise, but RSS stuck fast to their objective, and with the right advice from both ourselves and design and build contractors Cameron Harris, I am sure in 9 months they will be in a brand new bespoke facility that will ensure the continued success for RSS for years to come.”
