 Bonnytoun House, Linlithgow

Graham + Sibbald’s Edinburgh Building Surveying Department, recently undertook a Pre-Acquisition Survey on a prestigious Victorian country house in Linlithgow.

The property is believed to have been first constructed in 1840 by the famous architect Thomas Hamilton and comprises a ground floor, lower ground floor and first floor, as well as two mezzanine levels. Recently refurbished in 2013, this stunning property has four bedrooms, two of which are en-suite, as well as drawing room, kitchen/ dining room, snug, utility room, boot room and dressing room. The property grounds equate to approximately 24 acres and contains a number of detached steading buildings.

The report provided the client with comprehensive technical information on the property along with detailed advice regarding potential remedial works to key areas of the premises, both internal and external.

Jared Neville, Building Surveyor at Graham + Sibbald Edinburgh, said: “We were delighted to carry out an inspection on such a remarkable, stunning period property which had benefited from a high quality fit-out by the previous owners. Given the clients foreign base, he relied upon our regular communication during the preparation of the report and was pleased with the service provided.”
