Rosebery House, Edinburgh - Fit Out

Rosebery House, Edinburgh – Fit Out

Graham + Sibbald have recently been involved with the fit out of the ground and third floors of Rosebery House, Edinburgh for the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry in partnership with Mitie.

Our Edinburgh Building Surveying team, led by Partner Paul Docherty and Associate Greg Cranston, were specifically involved in the design stage of the fit out and also provided a general consultancy role in checking regular progress and assisting with problem solving.

Lady Smith, Chair of the Inquiry, said: “I would like to personally thank Graham + Sibbald for their considerable work in building such a wonderful hearings venue for the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry. The venue is everything we hoped it would be. It is astonishing and testament to the work of Graham and Sibbald that the venue was so successfully planned, built and equipped in a matter of months.”

The fit out project was delivered on time and within budget, and met with the expected quality and professionalism that the client was looking for.

Mark Dorrian, Operations Manager for the Inquiry, said: “Due to a delay in securing the lease, the Inquiry had a very tight timescale indeed. Graham and Sibbald were absolutely instrumental in the project being completed on time. From day one they worked according to the needs of the Inquiry preparing detailed plans and running a tender exercise for the building contractors before the lease was signed. The Inquiry’s plans changed a number of times due to internal decisions and external forces and Graham + Sibbald adapted to these changes with great professionalism and speed. They also acted on the Inquiry’s behalf with third parties on a number of occasions to get things done timeously. Graham + Sibbald did not simply provide a service for the inquiry; they were an integral part of the project team who worked tirelessly, doing everything within their power, to get a very difficult project done very well indeed, and to a very tight timescale.”

As always, it is a pleasure to work alongside Mitie and we look forward to working with them again on future projects.
