Countdown to the Games

Scottish professionals join athletes for celebratory lunch

Clients and professionals from Property, Legal and Finance sectors joined Graham + Sibbald at a private luncheon in June, where they met elite Scottish athletes and heard about their preparation for the forthcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Our Rising Star Craig Benson was in attendance and answered questions from guests about his experience of swimming for Team Scotland and the event was hosted by Olympic silver medallist and world champion swimmer Keri-Anne Payne. Rugby 7’s Scotland Captain, Colin Gregor, was there to give his update on rugby preparations for the Games.

Senior Partner, Iain Leighton, commented: “We can all learn and be inspired by those who dedicate themselves to being the very best they can be.  Athletes push themselves to the limit and we in business can always look to improve our performance, albeit in a very different way.

“We have been supporting Craig Benson in his run up to the Games this year and we are delighted to have introduced our ‘Rising Star’ sponsorship to help and encourage our next level of young sportsmen and women coming through the ranks.”

The event raised £1000 for charity and sporting themed prizes were won by many of the attendees. The lunch venue, The Corinthian, is operated by the G1 Group, long standing clients of Graham + Sibbald.
