Graham + Sibbald Announce Four New Partners

• Glasgow promotes two Associate Building Surveyors to Partner status

• New Partner for Edinburgh in Residential Department

• Aberdeen office appoint residential specialist to Partner 

Leading Scottish surveying firm Graham + Sibbald (G+S) has today (1 April 2014) announced four new appointments to Partnership status, covering three office locations. The partnerships follow a recent new office opening in Ayr and further planned investment in the firms network of local offices across Scotland.

Arran Leask (35) is now an Edinburgh Partner and has been with G+S for six years.  Educated at Aberdeen University, with a post graduate in Edinburgh, he became fully qualified in 2006.  Arran commented: “I am keen to take the Edinburgh Residential Department forward in the coming months.  The market is really starting to gather momentum again and we are in a good place to build on the existing success of G+S Edinburgh.”

Darroch Robertson (41) is the newly appointed Partner in Aberdeen and joined G+S in 2008.  Darroch was born and bred in Aberdeenshire and now lives with his family in Inverurie.  He attended University in Edinburgh.  “I will now have a strong focus on running the residential department and driving it forward in what is a very active market at the moment.  We are currently expanding the team and are actively seeking out new recruits to join us in Aberdeen.”

Alastair Welch (42) and Neil MacFarlane(44) have both been promoted to Partners' in the Glasgow office.  Alastair, a Chartered Buildings Surveyor with the Firm since 1999 and lives in the Pollokshields area of the City.  Originally from Dundee and educated at Robert Gordon University, Alastair commented: “Business is brisk in the Glasgow area and the Firm’s multi-disciplinary approach is welcomed by a lot of our bigger clients, while we still maintain a highly personal service.”

Neil MacFarlane has been with G+S for 15 years, always focussed on the building surveying side of the business. Neil lives with his family in East Kilbride. Neil commented: “ The market is definitely more positive and the Glasgow office is delighted to be involved with so many interesting projects currently.”

Iain Leighton, Senior Partner, commented: ”These four appointments are well deserved and signify our continued investment in developing our people across our business.  They come on board following a busy period for the Firm.  Our Ayrshire presence has grown with another office opening in Ayr last month (March) and our staff numbers are growing steadily to meet increasing client demand; a very positive start to 2014.”
