Development underway at new phase of Greenlaw Village

Work begins on Newton Mearns retail site

Gleniffer Developments’ new phase of the thriving retail development site at Greenlaw Village, Newton Mearns, Glasgow, is now underway.  The one acre site was recently acquired by Gleniffer, who was advised by Graham + Sibbald, and work is now underway in building 20,000 square feet of new retail space, partially pre-let to Home Bargains.

This latest phase of the Greenlaw development represents a capital spend in the region of £3million.

Steven McGarva, Partner at Graham + Sibbald’s Glasgow office, commented: “This well thought through, part speculative retail development is rare in today’s market.  We have worked with Gleniffer for a number of years on this project and it is encouraging to see another major phase of development underway.”

Bryan Wilson, Managing Director of Gleniffer, said: “We are delighted to be able to progress with this latest phase of the Greenlaw project and are pleased to announce that a pre-let with Home Bargains is now in place.  The project is being funded in partnership with London based William Pears Group.”

Greenlaw Village is anchored by Waitrose and is located within the affluent Glasgow suburb of Newton Mearns.  As well as being home to Scotland’s first new-build Waitrose store, Greenlaw accommodates 14 other occupiers including Tesco Express, Premier Inn, Beefeater, Rowlands Pharmacy, Vets 4 Pets, Betfred and Barnardos.
