Graham + Sibbald, Chartered Surveyors acting on behalf of the clients, James B Stephen and David J Hill of BDO LLP as Joint Administrators have sold the Oban Marina Ltd, as a fully operational trading facility to Oban Marina & Yacht Services Ltd.
Oban Marina is perfectly situated at the gateway to the Western Isles on the picturesque Isle of Kerrera, West Coast of Scotland.
In sight of the town of Oban, it is a well serviced and popular marina offering access at all tides.
The sale of the marina generated a significant amount of interest and culminated in a Closing Date being set just prior to Christmas at which point multiple offers were received.
Bruce Murdoch, Partner in Graham + Sibbald’s Aberdeen office, who handled the sale highlights that although the marketing of the marina was conducted in the lead up to the festive period we were extremely pleased with the interest generated. Given the level of interest and the speed with which the transaction was completed this reflects the fact that despite the challenges faced by many sectors of the economy and in particular the property market there remains a real appetite for well located quality assets.
The new owners took over on 9 February 2012 and pledge a friendly, customer-orientated approach. The newly formed Oban Marina & Yacht Services Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of a long established local company, The North Ledaig Co Ltd. The Operations Director, Sue Deacon, who is well known in the west coast yachting community is actively involved in continuing to develop and grow the Oban Marina.
