Retail Development - Meynell Road, Darlington


Graham + Sibbald’s Planning Team secured planning consent for a new non-food retail unit and drive through restaurant at Meynell Road, Darlington. On behalf of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC. 


An application was recently submitted to amend the floor space and layout of the consented drive through restaurant to accommodate McDonald’s. 


This site is situated in an out of centre location and a sequential assessment and town centre health check was prepared by Graham + Sibbald to support the planning application.


This project involved appointing and managing technical inputs from an Architect, Transport Planner and an Environmental Consultant. The project involved liaising and negotiating with various departments within Darlington Borough Council and the local Councillors. 


Graham + Sibbald has been retained by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC to advise on their assets in Stirling and Glenrothes.
