Architectural Technician/ Technologist – Glasgow

Graham + Sibbald are recruiting an Architectural Technician/ Technologist with a strong technical ability to join an expanding architectural team to help deliver a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects in the idustrial, commercial and housing sectors throughout Scotland and the North of England.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following: 

  • Strong technical ability - experience producing statutory applications (planning, building warrants, etc.)

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Scottish Building Regulations, including Domestic and Non-Domestic Technical Handbooks

  • Confident construction detailing

  • Experience in measured surveys of existing buildings

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues both orally and in writing

  • Proficient in AutoCAD LT, Revit LT expereince beneficial

  • Preparation of design, construction and tender information

  • Minimum of 2 years' expereince in an architectural capacity

  • Ideally looking to work towards membership qualification of CIAT (Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists) either TCIAT or MCIAT

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, committed attitude to work and a flexible, adaptable and responsive approach to new challenges

Qualified Valuer - Glasgow Office

Our Glasgow Office is seeking to recruit a Chartered Surveyor who is also an RICS Registered Valuer to join the existing Valuation Team carrying out a mix of valuations in the retail, industrial and office sectors in the West of Scotland, mainly in the sub £1M bracket. Experience of valuations for loan security is preferred although there is a mix of bank, private client and corporate instructions.

Building Surveyor - Glasgow Office

Our Glasgow Office is seeking to recruit a Chartered or soon to be Chartered Surveyor to join the existing Building Surveying Team. Experience of property inspections, surveys, EPC, dilapidations and contract administration is mandatory and there will be a mix of working with both public and private clients.

Graduate Commercial Surveyor - Dundee Office

A vacancy has arisen for a Graduate Commercial Surveyor or Newly Qualified Surveyor to be based at our Dundee Office.

The firm offers a complete range of Property Services including commercial property management, commercial agency, building surveying, valuations, rent reviews and lease renewals.

Graduate Planner - Glasgow Office

 

Graham + Sibbald's Planning and Development Team is looking to recruit a Graduate Planner to join their expanding team. The Graduate Planner role will be based in our Glasgow office and will have a Scotland wide remit. The appointed Graduate will be provided with structured training and dedicated support towards their Assesment of Professional Competence (APC).

 

Key duties will include:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents
  • Assist in preparing representations to promote land through the development plan process
  • Assist in the provision of advice to other departments with Graham + Sibbald (including planning policy position, review of planning history etc.)
  • Research and interpret data
  • Attending meetings/ undertaking site visits with senior members of the Planning and Development Team

Experience required:

  • RTPI or RICS accredited degree
  • Knowledge of the Scottish Planning System
  • Previous relevant expereince would be advantageous
  • Full clean driving license
  • Good PC skills - Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint
  • Organisation/networking/negotiating skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team

Administrator - Dundee Office

 

Graham + Sibbald are looking to hire an experienced Administrator to work in their Dundee office. The role will involve answering phone calls, dealing with enquiries, typing up reports/ letters/ fees, setting up the boardroom for meetings and general administration required to ensure smooth running of the office. 

 

Key role deliverables:

- Support activity is carried out effectively and efficiently

- AIMS data is kept up to date and accurate

- Effective customer and internal relationships

- Support Senior Administrator/ PA as required

 

Experience:

- Knowledge of working in an Office environment

- Awareness of the importance of accuracy and meeting deadlines

- Proven ability to work as part of a team

- Good organisational skills

- Fast learner with ability to multi-task
